Sanguinarine-induced apoptosis is associated with the activation of JNK and NF-κB. Sanguinarine (Pseudochelerythrine, Sanguinarin, Sanguinarium), a benzophenanthridine alkaloid known as an anti-inflammatory agent, is a potent inhibitor of NF-κB activation.
